Here is another homeschool science curriculum which you may have investigated to use in teaching your kids, R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey. Although the two curricula are similar in some respects, such as employing a hands-on approach to teaching and using real scientific methodology and vocabulary, there are some marked differences.
Let’s take a look at a comparison chart of RS4K and R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey:
|R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey||RS4K|
|Elementary Curriculum Available||Yes (K-5)||Yes|
|Middle School Curriculum Available||Biology only||Yes|
|High School Curriculum Available||No||Chemistry with more being developed|
|Length of Study||Full year||Semester|
|Worldview||Non-sectarian||Neutral – presents all|
|College level principles presented throughout all grade levels||Uses real scientific language and methods||Yes|
|General Curriculum Type||Very hands-on; uses story format||Building block approach, connects science to other disciplines|
|Separate Experiment Workbook||Included in textbook||Yes|
|Teachers Edition||Included in textbook||Yes|

While R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey is one of the few secular science curricula available, it does not do the same job of presenting varying worldviews like RS4K does. It is limited by the fact that the textbooks are only available through grade 8.
Real Science 4 Kids provides a homeschool science curriculum that allows very young children to start exploring varying viewpoints and uncover discoveries that make them excited about learning more. But no matter the age of your child, RS4K presents real science in a real scientific way.
